One of the streets in my community:

This is the street that takes us out of the community to the main road:

This is the other side of my building; my balcony is the third one down from the top:

Woke up to the sun shining, but very cold temperatures. Plus I'm a bit stiff from all the shoveling! :D Might go out for a walk later with camera in hand see what's outside the area I live in. ;)

Thanks for the photos Kathy, they look beautiful, but not so nice when you drive on the roads.

As expected, my office is closed today; I had a dental appintment this afternoon, but as there is no bus service at all in my area, and no above ground subway service, I had no way of getting to the dentist's office in Washington DC! One of my neighbors drove out this morning to go to the market (and she very kindly called to see if I needed anything), and she said the roads were not good -- even the main roads were still full of snow, with snow plows everywhere. And, as if we hadn't had ENOUGH snow over the weekend, the forecasters are talking a second storm Tuesday night into Wednesday, which could drop another 8-10 inches of the white stuff!! 8O

Update; reports have been updated to say the projected snowfall from the next storm is up to 15 inches!!! 8O 8O Just got word that my office is closed again tomorrow... goodness knows when I'll get back to work!

So here I am, still on snow-forced leave; my office has been closed since about 1 p.m. last Friday! Today we had round two of snow: another 10-12 inches or so compounded by high winds that made it very difficult to see anything at times.

The view from my balcony about 9 a.m. Wednesday morning:

My cat Loki: he was crying to go out on the balcony, but changed his mind when the wind blew snow in his face:

My balcony; you can see how the wind blew the snow against the door:

A couple more photos. My office is closed again Thursday, but thankfully the weather forecast is for sun!

The view from my building's front door towards my car (snow was piled up against the door!)

Loki decided the best place for him was as close to the fireplace as possible :D :
